Established in 1864, Firemans Arms oozes traditional ambiance and you can feel it the minute you set your foot in the door. This historic English pub is covered with dark, rich polished wooden bars and tables. Placed inside next to beer taps are memorabilia such as fireman’s helmets, an old ladder, a fireman’s pole, and snippets from sports history that takes your imagination back to old times.

Firemans Arms’ state of the art, 2 large HD projectors and 13 big 9 x 46” flat TV screens with excellent sound, make it home for sports crazies! Whether you’re a rugby, tennis, soccer, or Formula 1 supporter, Firemans Arms will definitely accommodate you. During big sports events like UEFA Champions League, Super Rugby, FIFA World Cup and Rugby World Cup, Firemans Arms is always jam-packed with proud supporters rocking their favourite teams’ shirts. National Anthems are sung, selfies and footages are taken creating a real sports atmosphere.
Beer lover? No need to worry! Firemans Arms serves a selection of 25 beers on tap, great specials, an array of beverages which include specialty coffees. All draughts are R41, but Mondays there’s a Monday Madness draught special and you can get any beer on tap for R30.
There’s no such a thing called pub without a great grub! Firemans Arms offers its guests an upmarket pub-grub menu from starters to focaccia, and homemade soups, salads, as well as mains that range from steak, to pies, curry, pizza, and fish and chips. You can get creative with a range of toppings including escargot, but whatever you end up having, leave room for dessert! Depending on how long your stomach is, you can get any meal from R33 to R180. If you happen to visit with your little ones, there’s a Junior menu that caters for kids under the age of 12.
Thursday Quiz Night
As a proudly South African pub, Firemans Arms embraces South African ‘Phuza Thursday’ culture with a pub quiz. In this battle of the brains, knowledge is power. Hosted by Quiz Nite Cape Town, Quiz Night starts at 7:30 pm every Thursday and participation is R20. If you consider yourself an Einstein, Thursday Quiz Night at Firemans Arms will be a good idea.
